Lowered backing for Selenskyj - majority stays with him
Throughout the conflict, faith in Zelenskyy dwindled. By December 2023, 77% of Ukrainians trusted him, while in February that year, this figure stood at 64%.
However, the pollster KIIS recently announced that his support fell beneath 60% for the first time. "The trend of distrust persists," they stated. "Nonetheless, we'd like to emphasize that Volodymyr Zelenskyy maintains legitimacy in Ukrainian society and the majority of Ukrainians retain trust in him."
Zelenskyy assumed office in 2019. His term was set to expire last month, but due to the current war law, he's lingering as president. As per the Ukrainian government, there won't be any elections for the foreseeable future. Reasons include Russian control of 20% of the nation and millions of Ukrainians fleeing too.
