Current climate conditions - Lower Saxony experiences significant downpours, storms, and thunderstorms on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Lower Saxony is set to experience some discomfort thanks to low pressure hovering over the Baltic Sea, Denmark, and Southern Norway. This situation will cause damp, chilly air to blow in from the North Sea to North Germany. The German Weather Service has warned us that we can expect storms, torrential rain, and even thunder.

In certain regions, the rain showers may unleash up to 20 to 40 liters of water per square meter in a matter of hours. The heavy rainfalls are predicted to occur throughout Tuesday night, gradually subsiding come morning. However, the possibility of thunderstorms still lingers during the day, with a few potentially accompanied by strong winds gusting at speeds of up to 65 kilometers per hour. It's going to be particularly gusty along the North Sea coast. Temperatures will hover between 14 to 17 degrees all day.

Things look brighter and drier in the southeast of the federal state on Wednesday. Nevertheless, rain and wind from the North Sea persist. The weather forecasts predict a gloomy, wet outlook up until the weekend.

Despite the wet weather in Northern Germany, the city of Bremen manages to maintain its charm, offering visitors a unique blend of Hanseatic tradition and modernity. However, the heavy rainfall and potential thunderstorms could pose challenges for outdoor activities.

Meanwhile, Scandinavian neighbors like Southern Norway are also bracing for turbulent weather. The Norwegian Meteorological Institute has issued warnings of heavy rain and strong winds, which could lead to some disruptions in their daily routines.

In contrast, Denmark is expected to experience slightly milder weather conditions compared to its northern neighbors. The Danish Meteorological Institute has predicted some rainshowers, but nothing as severe as what's happening in Northern Germany and Southern Norway.

The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued advisories for the entire country, urging people to stay alert and take necessary precautions, especially during the storms and potential thunderstorms.

Despite the bleak forecasts, some parts of Germany, like Southern regions, may experience relatively better weather conditions. However, the risk of thunderstorms remains a concern even in these areas.

The continuous series of wet weather in Germany and Scandinavia could have its impact on the Baltic Sea, potentially leading to changes in water temperature and nutrient levels, affecting the marine ecosystem.
