Long incarcerations for three individuals charged with killing journalists in the Netherlands.

Three suspects were recently penalized with prison sentences ranging from 10 to 14 years for assisting in the murder of the noted Dutch journalist De Vries. This incident, which transpired in broad daylight in Amsterdam on July 6, 2021, has left the Netherlands and Europe in a state of shock.

De Vries was a trusted confidant of Nabil B., a former gang member who became a crucial figure in the massive trial targeting the renowned drug kingpin Ridouan Taghi. Taghi received a life sentence in February. However, the murder case involving De Vries is linked to the aforementioned trial; two other individuals linked to Nabil B. were also taken out before their time - his brother in 2018, and his lawyer in 2019.

Despite his close association with Nabil, the main suspects, Delano G. and Kamil E., as well as their comrades, all denied their involvement in the heinous crime. Ironically, two individuals believed to belong to a criminal organization were later acquitted. Notably, a ninth defendant was acquitted of aiding and abetting murder, but was found guilty of possessing illegal drugs.

The lengthy and secure court proceedings, referred to as "The Bunker," were established specifically to manage the Manhunt for Ridouan Taghi, a notorious drug lord.
