Stuttgart experiences thrilling and emotional game of football. - Local government adopts preliminary stance for constructing a fresh music venue.

Music enthusiasts can prepare for a unique event: The Stuttgart City Council, as stated by the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra (SCO), has paved the way for a new concert venue. A cross-partisan majority has endorsed the project Concert Forum on the Neckar in a landmark resolution.

The SCO claims that a new building should be constructed on the site of an erstwhile sparkling wine cellar along the Neckar riverbank in Bad Cannstatt by 2028 for nearly €99 million. Approximately €25 million is expected to be contributed from private donations and public funding, while the remaining expenses will be covered by the city.

The Concert Forum will serve as the base for the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and the Stuttgart Philharmonic. The focal point will be a hall accommodating approximately 1000 seats. Experts will guarantee excellent acoustics.

"Expect a hall with around 1000 seats, a multi-purpose hall, rehearsal rooms, assorted dining options, administrative rooms, and a publicly accessible rooftop garden," they noted. The lineup will feature classical music, jazz, pop, electro, and community formats.

Markus Korselt, the Intendant of the SCO, expressed excitement, stating, "We're thrilled that Stuttgart agrees to the Concert Forum on the Neckar. The city will boast a new music center, and citizens will have a captivating music and social hangout spot."

Thomas Zehetmair, the Chief Conductor of the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, shared, "As an artist, you can meticulously prepare yourself – the ambiance of a surreal hall adds a fresh layer, which resonates with both the audience and musicians instantly. The Amsterdam, Boston, and Berlin cases demonstrate how the world-class orchestra culture is intimately linked to the hall."
