Munich's Headlines: New Developments - Local field hockey talent Lutz signs NHL deal

A player from the Bundesliga team EHC Red Bull Munich, Julian Lutz, is set to join the North American professional league NHL. The club made the announcement on Monday, confirming that Lutz has signed his first NHL professional contract. The 20-year-old will be hunting for goals with the new NHL team in Utah in the upcoming season.

Lutz took his first steps into hockey at the age of twelve when he became a member of the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy. Since then, he has played in the junior teams of the Red Bulls, German U-National teams, and the Munich club's professional team, all while gaining recognition for his exceptional skills.

Lutz's performance in the United States' premier youth league, the UCHL, prior to joining the Red Bulls, was particularly impressive. He played 56 games for the Green Bay Gamblers, scoring 26 goals and registering 46 assists. Now, he has signed for the Utah NHL Team, which is set to take over the Arizona Coyotes' license for the upcoming season. Owner Ryan Smith mentioned that it will take some time for the Utah team to finalize the official club name, logos, and team colors.
