Accident - Livestock truck with bulls tips on its side

In a cattle truck accident on Tuesday in Mettingen in northern Münsterland, more than 20 bulls tipped onto their sides in a trailer. According to the police in the district of Steinfurt, the driver of the truck and his trailer had strayed onto the grass verge. The tractor unit with some of the animals came to a standstill. It was initially unclear whether and how many animals were injured in the accident near the state border with Lower Saxony.

In the evening, it was reported that all the animals had been removed from the transporter safely. The bulls were uninjured apart from the odd graze, said a spokesperson. However, because the empty trailer was in an awkward position, it could only be removed from the scene of the accident on Wednesday.
