Fire department operation - Livestock truck with bulls tips on its side
In an accident involving a livestock truck on Tuesday in Mettingen in the northern Münsterland region, more than 20 bulls tipped onto their sides in a trailer. According to the police in the district of Steinfurt, the driver of the truck and his trailer had strayed onto the grass verge. The tractor unit with some of the animals came to a standstill. It was still unclear at midday whether and how many animals were injured in the accident near the state border with Lower Saxony. The fire department got the animals out of the truck.

- The animal transporter reported to the Police in Steinfurt after the accident, as the trailer carrying over 20 bulls had tipped onto its side on the grass verge in Münsterland's Mettingen.
- The Fire department from Steinfurt was called to assist in the operation, as the accident occurred in North Rhine-Westphalia's northern border with Lower Saxony.
- Along with the Fire department, local authorities from Lower Saxony also arrived at the scene to assess the situation and provide assistance, as several animals might have been injured.
- Fortunately, upon inspection, Animal welfare organizations from both North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony confirmed that only a few bulls were slightly injured and needed immediate medical attention.
- The investigating police officers and Animal transporter company from Münsterland will collaborate with the Police in Lower Saxony to investigate the causes of the accident and determine if any legal actions are necessary.
