Live Performances Resume at Neuschwanstein Castle Once More

Following the concerts at the renowned singer's hall, the famed fairytale castle has been echo-less since 2015. However, this August marks a change with the resurgence of musical events for the first time once more, introducing an entirely novel concept.

- Live Performances Resume at Neuschwanstein Castle Once More

The Neuschwanstein Performance Group brings to life, from August 21 to 25, what's been drawing music lovers to Schwangau, Allgäu for over four decades: shows at Schloss Neuschwanstein. And this time, with a brand-new twist.

"The nighttime events will kick off for the first time as an outdoor spectacle," says a rep from the Bavarian Palace and Lake Administration, which owns the castle. Over 500 VIP seats and gigs by top-notch groups like the Chart Chamber Artists or the young Berlin Philharmonic are on tap.

"The Mountain Doc" is in the mix

The spotlight of each night will revolve around its theme, such as "Leap and Liberty", "Sunset and Goodbyes", or "Legends and Tales", as the organizers have shared. Also expected to take the stage are hosts and yarn-spinners like actor Hans Sigl, famous from the ZDF series "The Mountain Doc", and vocalists like soprano Vera-Lotte Boecker.

Shows at the fairytale chateau were a consistent part of Schloss Neuschwanstein's annual schedule until 2015. Since 1970, annual classical concerts known as "Schlosskonzerte" were held in the music hall of the historic building. However, they were put on hiatus due to the current almost-completed renovation of the royal rooms.

The Free State of Bavaria doled out 20 million euros for these room renovations over the past seven years, leading up to this outdoor event series.

The Castle of Fairy Tales, more famously known as Schloss Neuschwanstein, is the stunning backdrop for the nighttime events. Visitors can look forward to performances by actors like Hans Sigl from "The Mountain Doc" series at the fairytale chateau.
