Free time or recreational hours - Literary festival held in Halle, Magdeburg, Zeitz, and Osterburg.
This year, The Literature Days in Saxony-Anhalt will be happening in four different cities. The invitation comes from The Literature House Magdeburg, The Literature House Halle, The Zeitzer Library Initiative, and The Hanseatic City of Osterburg to explore the literary sceneries along the rivers Biese, Elbe, Saale, and White Elster. The event is scheduled between September 26th and October 26th.
The theme for this year is "Upstream, Downstream: The Literary Currents of Saxony-Anhalt." There will be various events like readings, literary strolls, writing workshops, and discussion sessions for people to delve into the realm of literature. A wide variety of authors, including many from Saxony-Anhalt, are expected to attend the festival. Apparently, more than 40 events have been planned. The event will start in The Literature House Halle.
Saxony-Anhalt is known for its love for literature and reading, according to Minister President Reiner Haseloff, who is also the patron of the event. "Reading allows people to discover a whole new world of culture, and literature remains the primary medium of our spiritual realm," he added.
The Literature Days have been a tradition since 1992, and their locations keep changing every year. Notable events this year include a reading from author Matthias Jügler ("Mayfly Season") in The Magdeburg Literature House and a reading from Clemens Meyer ("The Projectors") in The Literature House Halle.
