Accidents - Liquid gas truck overturns in Blankenburg - company evacuated
A hazardous goods truck loaded with liquid gas left the road and overturned in an industrial area in Blankenburg on Friday evening. Due to the proximity to an adjacent building belonging to Harzer Wiesenquell Werke, the people there were evacuated as a precautionary measure, the police announced on Saturday. The area was cordoned off over a wide area. The truck was raised up again with the help of a crane. The salvage operation took several hours, but no liquid gas escaped. The police estimate the damage to be around 10,000 euros. No one was reportedly injured.
