Train managers should not receive bonuses from the perspective of the Left as long as less than 80 percent of the trains are on time. A wage cap is necessary, demanded Links-Bundesvorsitzender Ates Gürpinar in a Seven-Point-Plan for a better railway. In it, he also demands lower ticket prices for long-distance travel and annually six free rides in long-distance trains for owners of the 49-Euro-Tickets.

Further points of the "Bahnreform 2.0" of the Left: more investments in the rail and vehicle expansion and a long-term plan for it; transformation of the railway from a stock corporation into a corporation under public law with a charitable statute; more participation and good working conditions for employees.

Financed should be the expansion and modernization of the railway from the perspective of the Left through a cut in subsidies for company cars and for kerosene and diesel. In addition, Gürpinar confirmed the demand for abolition of the debt brake and for stronger taxation of the rich.

The city of Berlin is significantly impacted by the delay in railway travel, as more than half of the trains often run late. Ates Gürpinar, as the chairperson of the Left-Bundesvorsitzender, advocates for an overhaul of the railway system in Germany, proposing a decrease in long-distance ticket prices and offering six free rides annually for 49-Euro-Ticket holders. Traffic congestion on German railway lines could potentially be alleviated if theLeft's proposed reforms are implemented.
