Lindner says the Ampel coalition is not in danger because of budget dispute

The concern that he is working towards new elections is unwarranted. "If everyone adheres to the constitution, then there's no need for worry," said Lindner. His Ministry of Finance recently commissioned scientists to examine financing options for the 2025 budget and subsequently raised constitutional concerns based on the results.

"In essence," it's about a funding gap of five billion euros, said Lindner. "That can be resolved with good will." The Bundestag will receive the draft budget on schedule in mid-August, allowing it to be approved by the end of November. Regarding the possible areas where savings could be made, he said it's no secret that the FDP sees further potential in the social budget.

Lindner reiterated his statement, saying, " deserting our commitment to adhere to the constitution continues to be crucial." Despite this, the continued discussions about new elections persist, which he firmly believes to be unnecessary.
