Team Scores Goals in Exciting Handball Game - "Lindberg's final Bundesliga match is won by Foxes Berlin"
Hans Lindberg, a Danish handballer, ended his last Bundesliga season with a win as his team, Füchse Berlin, defeated ThSV Eisenach 31:17 (15:13) on Sunday. This victory came following a three-day break after a home defeat against Bergischer HC. While this outcome was insignificant for the capital city team, as they had already secured second place and Champions League qualification, it was a noteworthy performance from Lindberg.
In his final game, Lindberg emerged as the top scorer for his team, scoring eight goals. With 17 years spent in Germany, Lindberg is now set to return to his homeland in Denmark. He first made his professional debut at HØJ Håndbold and, starting from the summer, will take on a dual role as sports director and player for a second division team, guiding them to the top.
During the match against ThSV Eisenach, Füchse coach Jaron Siewert made the decision to leave out Mathias Gidsel, who had fallen ill in training. As a result, Gidsel, a Danish world handballer, didn't have the chance to contribute to the battle for the top scorer title. The title will now go to Zehnder from Eisenach.
At the beginning of the game, the Berliners found themselves trailing closely, making numerous technical errors and missing valuable shots. By the end of the first half, they started to show an improvement and eventually took the lead for the first time at half-time.
After the break, both sides were even for a significant stretch, with Füchse displaying more tactical intelligence and exploiting the Eisenach mistakes. With five minutes remaining, they had a three-goal lead over the hosts and held on to it until the end, securing the victory.
