Life-long sentences in indicment process for missing pregnant women from Bavaria

Among the accused were the former partner of a woman who had been missing since December 2022, and a business partner. According to the judgment, the ex-partner of the victim used her solid financial relationships for credit-financed real estate businesses with his business friend, which caused problems for both of them a few months after the separation of the couple. They attempted to obtain execution titles fraudulently, against which the woman resisted and identified the men.

In this context, the accused, who were 48 and 50 years old at the trial, made a joint decision to kidnap and murder the 39-year-old woman from Nuremberg. They transported her to a warehouse and forced her to write a handwritten letter revoking her statements. After that, they murdered the woman in an unknown manner.

The pregnant woman, who was in her eighth month, had taken her two-year-old foster child to kindergarten on December 9, 2022, and has been missing since then. Her body was never found. According to the judgment, the accused attempted deception. They sent farewell messages from their phone and took it to Italy to create the illusion of disappearing abroad.

The court, according to the spokesperson, recognized in addition to the aggravating circumstances of the crime, which in principle excludes bail after 15 years in most cases. On the one hand, it evaluated the serious consequences of the crime for the foster child of the victim, with whom she had an extremely close relationship. On the other hand, the fact that with the crime, the already eight-month-old unborn child of the victim also died had a punitive effect.

The judgment is not yet legally binding, but the accused can appeal. The defense pleaded for acquittals in the trial.

  1. The indictment process against the accused, both being men, began due to the disappearance of a pregnant woman from Nuremberg's District Court.
  2. Ms. Speaker, the Judge presiding over the case, handed down fines of up to lifelong amounts for the accused, as a result of their involvement in the Mord case in Bavaria.
  3. Pregnant women, especially in their eighth month like the victim, should be thoroughly protected, as they and their unborn children are among the most vulnerable during such difficult times.
  4. The accused, despite being 48 and 50 years old, attempted to deceive the authorities with fraudulent execution titles and false disappearances, leading to severe consequences.
  5. Nuremberg's District Court has significant responsibilities in ensuring justice for victims' families and holding perpetrators accountable, as evidenced by the ongoing case against the accused in the Mord incident.
  6. The accused, who were partners in business and personal matters, were indicted for their role in the Mord case in Nuremberg, and now face potential fines and prison sentences based on the court's findings.
