SV Darmstadt 98 aims to learn from their opening defeat in the 2. Bundesliga against Fortuna Düsseldorf (0:2) and draw the right conclusions. "We've analyzed Düsseldorf well, the game could have ended differently. It's all about conviction. When the opponent has the ball, but also when we're in the final third," says Darmstadt's coach Torsten Lieberknecht ahead of the second matchday on Sunday (13:30 CET/Sky) against SC Paderborn.

The 51-year-old expects a different game against SC Paderborn than against Fortuna. "They don't have a classic structure, but are very variable. They're very active in attack, with many positional changes, which can sometimes look chaotic on the pitch," says Lieberknecht about the next opponent, who started with a 2:1 win at Hertha BSC.

Lieberknecht will have to do without the suspended Othmane El Idrissi in Paderborn. Additionally, Alexander Brunst, who is out with a meniscus injury, and Fabian Holland, who is recovering from a cruciate ligament rupture, remain unavailable.

Darmstadt's coach Torsten Lieberknecht mentions that SC Paderborn, their upcoming opponent in the 2. Bundesliga, doesn't have a traditional structure but is highly variable and very active in attack. Despite Hessen's loss in their opening match against Fortuna Düsseldorf, Lieberknecht's team will look to apply the lessons learned and demonstrate conviction in Hessen.
