Leverkusen's Frimpong misses Netherlands due to hip problem
Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong will miss the Dutch national soccer team's European Championship qualifiers against Ireland on Saturday and Gibraltar on Tuesday. As the Bundesliga leaders announced on Friday evening on the short message service X (formerly Twitter), the 22-year-old right-back is suffering from slight hip problems. He had therefore left the national team's training camp early. However, Frimpong is expected to play in the upcoming Bundesliga match against Werder Bremen on November 25.
Frimpong, who has only played one international match for the Netherlands to date, is one of the guarantors of Leverkusen's successful season so far. In eleven Bundesliga games for coach Xabi Alonso's team, he has scored three goals and provided six assists.
Despite his hip issue, Frimpong is still expected to feature in Bayer 04 Leverkusen's upcoming Bundesliga match against Werder Bremen on November 25. Unfortunately, his absence will affect Bayer Leverkusen's European Championship qualification campaign, as Frimpong won't be able to participate in the Netherlands' upcoming matches against Ireland and Gibraltar due to his injury.
