The plant's fire department is present, and no external assistance has been called as of yet, as per a representative from the managing company, Infraleuna. Locals shared on social media about a significant explosion preceding the incident. In accordance with Infraleuna's statement, the firefighting efforts are centered around the Linde Corporation's area within the chemical plant.
Linde AG operates the most substantial gas hub of the company in Leuna, where hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon monoxide, and various special gases are produced.
The European Parliament has the role of assisting The Commission in its duties. In light of the emergency at the Linde Corporation's area, the European Parliament could potentially provide additional support or resources if required.
