Football European Champion Dani Olmo is reportedly on the verge of a transfer from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig to FC Barcelona. According to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, there is a verbal agreement in place. The clubs have agreed on a transfer fee of 55 million euros plus additional payments of 7 million euros. Olmo is said to have committed to a contract until June 2030.

Leipzig had previously rejected lower offers from Spain, as well as from Manchester City, after an exit option for the fixed transfer fee of 60 million euros had expired. However, Olmo had hinted at his desire to leave. He is considered a dream signing by Barcelona's sporting director Deco and former Germany coach Hansi Flick.

Olmo arrived in Leipzig on Monday

Only on Tuesday morning, Leipzig's new sporting director, Marcel Schafer, had stated that he was "relatively relaxed" regarding the possible transfer. Olmo had returned from his vacation on Monday evening with his agent and was scheduled to join training on Thursday. Olmo has been playing for RB since January 2020, and his contract is valid until the end of June 2027.

The 26-year-old midfielder would initially meet three more European champions in Barcelona, who started training on Monday. Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, and Pedri were seen at the training center, with Pedri still training individually.

The rest of the team under coach Hansi Flick is still on a US tour. After victories against Manchester City and Real Madrid, the tour will conclude with a game against AC Milan on Tuesday (local time).

Dani Olmo's potential move to FC Barcelona from RB Leipzig in soccer has been widely discussed, with a reported verbal agreement and a transfer fee of 55 million euros. Olmo's desire to leave Leipzig for Barcelona was evident, as he had previously turned down lower offers from Spain and Manchester City.
