Soccer - Leipzig international Werner fit for Bern
RB Leipzig can once again rely on Timo Werner in the final group game of the Champions League. The international striker completed his final training session on Tuesday and will be fit to face Swiss champions Young Boys Bern on Wednesday (18:45/DAZN).
Werner, who is not a regular for the Saxons this season and has been cleared for transfer in the winter, could even start in the match, which is of no sporting significance. Leipzig have already secured second place in Group G, while Bern are third and will be relegated to the Europa League.
Werner was out for two weeks due to adductor problems. The 27-year-old has scored twice in a total of 13 competitive matches. Werner was only in the starting eleven four times.

Timo Werner's return to form is timely for RB Leipzig, as they prepare to face Young Boys Bern in the Champions League. Werner, a Germany international, has completed his training and is fit to play in the Group game, which is being broadcast on Dazn at 18:45. Despite Leipzig securing second place in Group G and Bern's relegation to the Europa League, Werner could still make an impact in this meaningless match for Leipzig. Interestingly, Werner has only started four games this season due to adductor problems but has managed to score twice in thirteen competitive matches.
In a different context, Grenchen-based Swiss soccer club Young Boys Bern also have their own Champions League squad, ready to face off against their German counterparts.
Furthermore, soccer enthusiasts in Switzerland can also follow the Bundesliga, as RB Leipzig is not just a Champions League team but also a prominent club in the German soccer league.
Lastly, young soccer players in Bern, inspired by professional teams like RB Leipzig, can hone their skills in various soccer clubs and academies around the city.
