Infernos break out - Leipzig car fires under investigation by Soko LinX.
A suspected arson attack on several vehicles in Neulindenau, Leipzig has authorities investigating three individuals who are presumed to be from the left-wing community. The incident caused about 450,000 euros in damages, as per Saturday's announcement by the State Criminal Police Office. The trio is claimed to have torched cars at a dealership during the night of Friday. They were quickly apprehended in the vicinity of the crime scene after the incident. Initial inquiries suggest a premeditated act; however, their release from custody was subject to certain conditions.
During their inspection and the thorough search of their apartments, the investigators collected various objects. According to the latest updates, the investigation into co-conspiracy in arson is ongoing, and a politically motivated crime is not entirely ruled out. The authorities, however, are exploring all angles. Any individuals with relevant information are encouraged to come forward and contact the police. Additionally, the authorities are currently investigating these suspects in relation to the unrest on June 3, 2020, among other crimes, including disturbing the peace and other offences. These investigations are still ongoing and incomplete.
