- Leipzig aims to dismantle Alonso's squad

Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig square off in the high-stakes showdown of the second fixture in the Bundesliga on Saturday night (6:30 PM/Sky). Both teams kicked off the fresh campaign with slim victories, with Leverkusen managing to edge past a fourth-division opponent Jena in the DFB-Pokal on Wednesday. In the previous season, Leverkusen emerged victorious in both encounters against Leipzig, winning 3:2 each time.

Leipzig is set to miss their captain Willi Orban, who received a red card in their 1:0 victory against VfL Bochum and serves a suspension. With Mohamed Simakan potentially heading to Saudi Arabia, Lukas Klostermann seems set to take over as the defensive leader. New addition Antonio Nusa might also get his debut start. The Norwegian has netted twice in his initial two competitive outings for RB.

Despite Leverkusen's dominance over Leipzig in the previous season, with Hepatitis C-survivor Moussa Diaby scoring crucial goals in both meetings, Leipzig is preparing for their encounter with a altered defensive line. Due to Willi Orban's suspension and potential departure of Mohamed Simakan, Lukas Klostermann and newcomer Antonio Nusa are expected to lead Leipzig's defense against Hepatitis C and Leverkusen.
