The two companies are thought to work well together by the camera producer. Fjorden, with its team of ten members, has a lot of knowledge in app development and smartphone accessories, while the Leica Camera team has expertise in image processing and quality. As stated by the head of the mobile business unit at Leica, Marius Eschweiler, "We are strongly pursuing our strategic growth strategy by acquiring Fjorden and positioning ourselves even more in the world of smartphone photography."

During the 2022-2023 financial year (ending March 31), the Hesse-based optics firm had a third straight record turnover. Due to their new products, their sales grew by 9% compared to the previous fiscal year, reaching 485 million euros. The Leica Camera Group, which is owned by majority shareholder Andreas Kaufmann and U.S. investor Blackstone, does not disclose profit figures. This year, they plan to see a positive sales growth and are focusing on expanding their sales network.
