FC Bayern Munich - Lehmann advises Müller to leave Munich quickly
Former national goalkeeper Jens Lehmann recommends that Thomas Müller leave German soccer record champions FC Bayern Munich as soon as possible. "I would strongly advise him to leave the club. He's a Bayern legend anyway and will be back at some point. It would be nice to broaden his horizons and see something different," said Lehmann on the Sky program "Triple - der Schüttflix Fußballtalk".
With regard to when he thinks national team player Müller should transfer, Lehmann said: "As soon as possible. He wants to play the European Championship. That's why he should transfer in the winter - Italy or Spain perhaps. Then he can also play the European Championship again." Müller, who has rarely featured in the starting eleven under coach Thomas Tuchel, still has a contract with Bayern until the end of this season.
The 2006 World Cup keeper also has an opinion on the goalkeeper question for next summer's home European Championship. He would back Manuel Neuer because the Bayern goalkeeper has come back strongly from his long injury break. But he also wouldn't write off Marc-André ter Stegen from FC Barcelona "under any circumstances and wouldn't make the decision just yet". You have to see who is mentally best suited to the competitive situation.
