Under the motto "Legalization, but done right!" the 28th Cannabis Parade will take place this Saturday in Berlin. After the kick-off rally (12:00 PM) at the Neptune Fountain, the procession is set to start later in the afternoon, organizers announced. The protest march focuses mainly on the cannabis law that came into effect this year, which the organizers of the parade criticize as "insufficient".

"The promised pillar 2 with specialized shops is urgently needed," said Martin Steldinger, chairman of the Cannabis Parade Association. "And we need functional cannabis clubs."

Since April 1st of this year, the possession of certain amounts of cannabis, private cultivation, and consumption of the drug in public have been permitted nationwide for adults aged 18 and over, under certain conditions. No more than 25 grams may be carried in public, and no more than 50 grams may be stored at home. Up to three plants are allowed in the living area. Violations can be punished with a high fine.

The Cannabis Parade Association strongly believes that the community would benefit from the implementation of the promised pillar 2. It's crucial for the community to have access to specialized shops and functional cannabis clubs.
