Ludwigshafen - Legal certainty for planned Helmut-Kohl-Allee
According to the city administration, nothing stands in the way of the planned construction of the up to eight-lane Helmut-Kohl-Allee in Ludwigshafen. A private individual has withdrawn their complaint against the planning approval decision, the municipality announced on Monday. Legally, this means that it is no longer possible to overturn the decision in court proceedings.
"We now have legal certainty on all points," explained Mayor Jutta Steinruck (non-party). This sends out a positive signal for the entire region. The Rhein-Pfalz district had previously withdrawn its complaint.
By 2030/31, the dilapidated elevated highway north in the second largest city in Rhineland-Palatinate is to be demolished and replaced by a new bridge over the railway tracks and a multi-lane city road.
Helmut-Kohl-Allee - this 860-metre-long link is to be named as a posthumous tribute to the long-serving German Chancellor. Kohl was born on April 3, 1930 in Ludwigshafen and died on June 16, 2017 in Ludwigshafen-Oggersheim.
The transport system in Ludwigshafen, which includes the elevated highway south, which is currently being rebuilt, is also important for commuters and entrepreneurs in Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg and Hesse.
