- Legal authorities are initiated a lawsuit against medical professionals, alleging deceitful practices.
The Leipzig Criminal Court has indicted three physicians for their alleged involvement in deceptive practices. They stand accused of deliberately distorting the invoicing of medical services from 2015 up until 2019, as per the official announcement from the prosecutor's office. Furthermore, the defendants are also under scrutiny for illegally acquiring funds to hire additional medical staff.
In the chilly month of November 2019, authorities conducted scrutinous investigations across around twenty medical facilities and residences, subsequently confiscating substantial evidence.
The prosecutor's office alleges twenty-six instances of deceitful practices or complicity in such acts by the doctors, amounting to approximately four million euros in damages. It is now the Leipzig District Court's responsibility to evaluate the admissibility of the indictment.
The prosecutor's case against the physicians will be heard at the [The Court of First Instance]. The alleged deceptive practices and financial misconduct are expected to be thoroughly examined at this trial.
