Lawsuit for physical harm commences against tennis player Alexander Zverev in Berlin.
In November 2023, Patea resided in the dwelling she rented that was purportedly the scene of this incident. She subsequently experienced discomfort and difficulty swallowing for weeks. The Berlin District Court handed down a penalty order in October that year, fining Zverev 450,000 euros.
Currently, Zverev is competing in the French Open. Even though he wasn't compelled to personally attend the first trial day, he didn't choose to. Since he opted to challenge the penalty order, a court proceeding has now commenced.
His lawyer rebutted the accusations on Friday, as they involve claims that are questionable and inconsistent. The legal complaint, submitted a year and a half after the ostensible occurrence, has been connected to a custody and child support dispute involving their daughter, as well as the revelation of Zverev's new connection with Sophia Thomalla.
The defense also pointed out that Patea's social media posts, which she posted soon after the alleged episode, showed a positive and tranquil atmosphere between the two, with no signs of discord. Furthermore, they noted that there were no apparent injuries on Patea's neck.
