Large-scale scrutiny - Law enforcement officials screen passengers for weapons at Hamburg's transportation hubs.
Federal Police conducted extensive examinations of travelers for weapons at Hamburg Central Station and Reeperbahn S-Bahn station. Along with Deutsche Bahn's security personnel and the Hamburg police, they scrutinized 270 individuals on Saturday night, as per the Sunday announcement. Among the travelers were six individuals with weapons including knives, pepper spray, or brass knuckles. Additionally, eight wanted people were located. During these exams, 15 additional criminal charges were filed, covering assault and thought to be in violation of the illegal residence in Germany.
Government authorities, Deutsche Bahn Safety, and the Hamburg police declared their intent to curb weapon possession in trains as "Alliance Safe Central Station." These inspections will continue to occur randomly at Hamburg stations going forward.
