Law enforcement officials at the refugee camp: second detention following the assault in Solingen.

Unidentified individual perpetrates assault at urban celebration in Solingen, leaving three deceased and eight others wounded, some severely, on a Friday night. Law enforcement initiates extensive search for the suspected assailant.

Saturday night witnessed a law enforcement operation at a migrant hub in Solingen, situated close to the scene of the incident in the city center. Elite squads participated as well. Prior to this, a 15-year-old suspect was detained for potential ties to the individual in question.

The Islamic State (IS) declared responsibility for the event in Solingen. As per IS propaganda outlet Amaq on Telegram, an "IS fighter" executed the assault "on a Christian gathering in Solingen, Germany" on a Friday night. Allegedly, the attacker aimed to avenge Muslims in Palestinian territories and various other regions globally.

Despite the Islamic State's claim, local authorities remain skeptical about the group's involvement, as they believe the motive for the attack might have been an internal conflict or other personal reasons. Regardless, they are exploring all potential leads to ensure justice for the victims and their families.
