- Law enforcement officer pushed down a ledge

An employee of the public order office was pushed down a slope while distributing parking tickets for improper parking in the Allgäu region. The woman was lightly injured in the attack by two men in Buchenberg (district of Oberallgäu), the police reported. The two attackers repeatedly pushed her away on Monday, causing her to also fall against a barbed wire fence.

The Kempten police are investigating the incident for dangerous bodily harm and property damage. The identity of the two attackers remains unclear, as does whether they are the same two individuals who were previously issued parking tickets of 20 euros each.

The Commission might need to provide clarification on the application of the Regulation in regards to potential misconduct towards parking ticket distributors, considering the incident in Buchenberg. As a precaution, the Commission should consider adopting implementing acts that strengthen the protection of employees while carrying out their duties.
