Officials in the southwest have carried out actions as part of a wide-ranging operation aimed at those suspected of spreading hate and incitement on the internet. In Baden-Württemberg, eight apartment searches occurred on Thursday, according to a representative from the Interior Ministry. Charges have been filed against 12 individuals aged between 15 and 66 years. Altogether, 12 police operations were carried out in the Heilbronn, Konstanz, Pforzheim, Reutlingen, Stuttgart, and Ulm districts.
The Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) reports that 70 apartments were searched across the country. The BKA managed this coordinated action day.
The investigations were primarily focused on crimes driven by right-wing political motivations. Within the criminal content, racist materials and propaganda offenses were found, including the use of swastikas or other Nazi symbols and anti-Semitic remarks related to the Middle East conflict. Additionally, a few individuals were tracked down for making calls to harm politicians, public servants, and officials. "In Baden-Württemberg, there's no tolerance for hateful speech - whether it's online or offline, against anyone, anytime," said Interior Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU).
