- Law enforcement authorities issue alarm concerning potential explosives at educational institutions
Following two schools in Osnabrück receiving threatening emails about bombs, the authorities have given the all-clear. The dubious messages were received at the Integrated Comprehensive School (IGS) Eversburg and the Comprehensive School Schinkel at the break of dawn, the police announced. The schools were subsequently checked out. The authenticity of the intimidating emails was probed, and it was concluded that they were not genuine threats.
No suspicious findings were made during the examination of the school premises. The students of IGS Eversburg were subsequently sent home. The daily activities at the Comprehensive School Schinkel proceeded as usual.
As per the police, similar incidents have taken place recently in Peine, Bremen, and Saxony-Anhalt. Just like these, these as well turned out to be hoax bomb threats. The police have kick-started an investigation into disturbing public tranquility by issuing fake threats.
Despite the bomb threats, the bridge connecting the two schools in Osnabrück remained safe and undisturbed. The authorities decided to maintain regular operations at both schools, reassuring the students and staff that there was no cause for concern.
