- Law enforcement apprehends a 27-year-old individual, uncovering two kilograms of marijuana hidden in his vehicle.

At a narcotics check in traffic, cops in Hamburg captured a possible drug peddler. On a Tuesday, authorities halted the motorist in the Marienthal area, as per a police statement. The 27-year-old suspect was suspected of being intoxicated due to THC in cannabis and amphetamines while driving. The officers discovered a plastic sack containing 2 kilos of pot, approximately 100 prescription painkillers, and €950, presumed as drug proceeds, in the vehicle. Following examination, the man was released.

Post the new marijuana legislation enactment on April 1, adults can hold up to 25 grams of cannabis or hashish. Nevertheless, selling marijuana continues to be illegal. For motorists, as of August 22: Those having 3.5 nanograms of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) per milliliter of blood or more are subject to a €500 fine and a one-month driving ban. Over the two-year probationary period for drivers under 21, using cannabis while driving is absolutely forbidden.

Despite the new law allowing adults to carry up to 25 grams of cannabis, the 27-year-old suspect was found with a significant amount in his car, along with other illegal substances. The ongoing prohibition on selling marijuana means that the suspect likely faced charges beyond just drug use while driving.
