Law enforcement apprehended alleged firearm offenders in Zingst.

Following the shootings in the Baltic coastal town of Zingst, authorities conducted an extensive investigation. The evidence pointed towards a 22-year-old individual, who is currently under suspicion for the alleged offenses.

After a ten-day span, authorities in Zingst, Vorpommern-Rügen, apprehended a 22-year-old individual. He's under suspicion for discharging the gunshots that left two men critically wounded, the police reported. The judge at Stralsund District Court approved the state prosecutor's request for his detainment. This suspect hails from the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district.

The police and the public prosecutor's office are currently probing the incident on account of attempted murder charges. Due to strategic reasons, they're unable to disclose additional information regarding the crime's background at the moment. While conducting the investigation, they had to conduct searches involving special forces.

As per current investigations, a group of people was targeted with gunfire on Seebrücke square in Zingst during the early hours of August 9. Subsequently, a 25-year-old and a 24-year-old man sustained serious injuries. The investigators suspect that the shooter or shooters fired from a car, standing approximately 30 to 40 meters away.

The crime scene was situated near the beautiful Baltic Sea, with Seebrücke square in Zingst serving as the location. Despite the intensity of the investigation, the suspect has not been found in the vicinity of the Baltic Sea yet.
