- Law enforcement agencies are currently scrutinizing menaces perpetrated at voting locations.
Following an incident at a voting booth in Gera, authorities have lodged a report for threats. An individual wearing a Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) tee showed up to vote in the morning, as per a police representative. The voting station supervisor asked the individual to take off the shirt, since promoting political parties was prohibited within the voting station.
The individual agreed to the request, but once outside the voting station premises, he made a threat to "return" due to his displeasure with the situation. Authorities subsequently filed a report and cautioned the individual. Various news sources had previously covered the incident.
Furthermore, police in Erfurt are examining multiple cases of political vandalism ("Höcke is a Nazi") adjacent to polling stations throughout Saturday night, according to a police spokesperson, as well, under suspicion of property damage.
The individual expressed his intention to participate in the upcoming [Election to the Landtag], wearing a tee of the Alternative für Deutschland party, which led to a conflict at the voting booth. Despite being asked to remove the shirt due to the party promotion rule, the individual threatened to return due to his displeasure afterwards.
