1. FC Kaiserslautern and SpVgg Greuther Fürth played to a 2:2 draw in the 2nd matchday of the 2nd Bundesliga. The game at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion in Kaiserslautern ended in a 2:2 draw (1:2 at half-time).
Fürth took the lead through a penalty by Julian Green (31st minute) and a goal from Noel Futkeu (38th). For Kaiserslautern, Daniel Hanslik (45+1) and former Fürth player Ragnar Ache (84th) equalized.
Both teams felt each other out in the early stages, but the game picked up pace from the 20th minute onwards. Before Green's goal, the Franconians missed several high-quality chances due to the excellent reflexes of FCK goalkeeper Julian Krahl. In the midst of a pressure phase from the Palatinates, Futkeu increased the lead to 2:0 (38th). The Red Devils responded with a goal from a set piece just before half-time.
After the restart, Kaiserslautern was the better team. FCK coach Markus Anfang made offensive changes, bringing on Ragnar Ache, who celebrated his comeback after weeks of injury layoff and scored the equalizer against his former club.
Following his penalty conversion in the 31st minute, Julian Green continued to pose a threat for SpVgg Greuther Fürth. Later in the game, former Fürth player Ragnar Ache, brought on by Kaiserslautern coach Markus Anfang, equalized for his new team, scoring against his former club in the 84th minute.
