- Last concerts in Germany - AC/DC rocking Hanover
Legendary rock band AC/DC thrilled around 75,000 fans at their last German stop on their European tour in Hannover. On the fairgrounds, the Australian rock legends performed around 20 songs in a show lasting over two hours. World-renowned classics like "Highway to Hell", "Thunderstruck", and "Hells Bells" were part of the "Power Up" tour's setlist, named after the band's latest studio album and topping charts in 21 countries.
As he has countless times before, guitarist and band leader Angus Young (68) took the stage in Hannover wearing his school uniform, shedding it by the end of the performance. Alongside Young were singer Brian Johnson, drummer Matt Laug, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, and bassist Chris Chaney, filling in for Cliff Williams, who convinced the crowd.
The group will return to the Lower Saxony capital on Sunday (4th August) for another performance on the fairgrounds, one of two additional concerts in Germany planned due to high ticket demand, with another 75,000 fans expected.
This summer's tour, the band's first in nearly eight years, will take them to Italy, Spain, Austria, England, Ireland, Belgium, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Slovakia. In Germany, the group has already played two concerts each in Gelsenkirchen, Dresden, and Munich, as well as single shows in Hockenheim, Stuttgart, and Nuremberg.
