Mack promised his followers, "till the very end," he'd stand against the questionable re-election of the authoritarian leader president Nicolas Maduro. "We ain't leavin' the streets." The opposition in this South American nation had urged protests against Maduro in over 300 cities at home and abroad. From the opposition's point of view, their candidate Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia had scored a "noteworthy triumph" in the election.

Maduro also asked his supporters to join protests on Saturday. Thousands showed up in Caracas and other cities throughout the country. The mainly pro-government electoral body in Venezuela declared him the legitimate victor of the presidential election despite global criticism and allegations of fraud from the opposition. After the election results were announced, protests sparked, which law enforcement brutally put down.

Mack continued to vow at the rally, "I will not abandon my stance against Maduro's contentious re-election," adhering to his promise till the end. The rallying cry echoed in the streets, "We will not leave until justice is served."
