Large quantities of champagne found in car: probably stolen goods
Police discovered 41 bottles of champagne and two bottles of whisky in a car during a check on the highway 96 towards Lindau. According to initial findings, the spirits with a total value of around 2000 euros were stolen goods, the police announced on Wednesday. The two occupants, aged 16 and 27, stated that they were supposed to take the bottles from Frankfurt am Main to Stuttgart on Thursday in return for a courier's fee. It was initially unclear who ordered the trip and where the bottles came from. The police are now looking for witnesses.
The traffic on highway 96 was disrupted due to the police investigation, as they suspected the trafficked champagne and whisky to be involved in a crime. Despite being from different regions, Swabia and Frankfurt am Main, these illegal goods were found in a car heading towards Stuttgart.
