In a significant operation in Munich, police apprehended a man in the evening at the bustling Hackerbrücke. Initial investigations suggest that there was a physical altercation between him and another person around 5:15 PM, during which a dangerous object was used.

Eyewitnesses reported that a man had a knife on him. He is suspected of committing a crime in one of the shops in the area of the Hackerbrücke, according to a police officer on the scene. A police spokesperson stated that no one was seriously injured.

Dozens of police officers in helmets and shields were deployed. Special forces trained for dangerous situations were also on standby. Numerous patrol cars were called in. The police managed to detain the suspected perpetrator on the Hackerbrücke and quickly secured the situation, ensuring no threat to the public, said an officer on the scene.

Train traffic was only briefly disrupted. For a short time, S-Bahn trains did not stop at the Hackerbrücke, according to a spokesperson for Deutsche Bahn.

The police operation on the Hackerbrücke in Munich was escalated due to the suspected use of a dangerous object during the altercation. Subsequently, a large contingent of police officers, including special forces, were involved in the apprehension of the suspect.
