Turbulent Weather Condition Floods City - Landslides occur in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen region.

In the regions of Floh, Breitungen, and Brotterode-Trusetal, streets were predominantly submerged, triggering landslides. In Wernshausen, a section of the city, lightning struck a machinery building and the town hall. Furthermore, a residential house in Wernshausen caught fire on Saturday evening. The residents managed to escape on their own and were taken to a hospital for precautionary measures. Access to the fire location was complicated due to the storm. The firefighting endeavors continued into the night. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
