Process - Landlady killed: Murder conviction against 53-year-old
A 53-year-old man was sentenced to life imprisonment at Regensburg District Court on Monday for the fatal attack on his landlady. The criminal court found him guilty of murder with base motives and grievous bodily harm. The man had also attacked and injured the granddaughter of his 79-year-old landlady.
For 20 years, the man lived in Regensburg as a subtenant in the senior citizen's semi-detached house - together with the landlady. In March, he stabbed the woman to death after an argument. In the meantime, two of the landlady's granddaughters had also moved into the house.
Friction between the three women and the tenant continued. The man told investigators that he had feared for some time that he would soon lose the fuse.
The 53-year-old called the police after the crime and turned himself in. He confessed in court during the trial. The verdict is not yet final.
