Laakso replaces Markovic as Crailsheim basketball coach
Basketball Bundesliga club Hakro Merlins Crailsheim is parting ways with its head coach Nikola Markovic with immediate effect. The new coach will be Jussi Laakso from Finland. The club made the announcement on Tuesday. The Crailsheim team is thus reacting to its weak start to the season. They recently suffered six defeats in a row.
"Ultimately, the decisive factor was that we haven't seen any development within the team recently. That's why this change was a necessary step for us to give the team new impetus," said sporting director Ingo Enskat in a club statement. Laakso, who recently won the Finnish championship with the Helsinki Seagulls, has signed a contract with the bottom team until the end of the season.
The new coach for Hakro Merlins Crailsheim in the Basketball Bundesliga, Jussi Laakso, has a bright task ahead with the team currently at the bottom of the league after six consecutive losses. Prior to joining Crailsheim, Laakso led the Helsinki Seagulls to victory in the Finnish championship.
