Berlin-based publisher AvivA Verlag will be awarded the Kurt Wolff Prize 2024. For a quarter of a century, the publishing house has been "bringing the female voices of world literature to the fore with unflagging energy and great flair", the foundation announced in Leipzig on Friday. Across eras, continents and genres, "a small universal library has been created". The prize is endowed with 35,000 euros.

The 15,000 euro sponsorship prize goes to the Berlin-based publishing house mikrotext. The awards will be presented at the Leipzig Book Fair in March. The Kurt Wolff Foundation represents the interests of independent German publishers.
