Hall - Kunststiftung: New funding program for catalogs raisonnés
With a new funding program, the Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation wants to support visual artists in the creation of catalogs raisonnés. The Halle-based foundation announced on its website that a fixed amount of up to 30,000 euros can be paid for each annotated list of all works of art in accordance with academic standards.
This applies exclusively to complete catalogs; individual groups of works will not be funded, according to the statement. Applications are possible until June 12, 2024. In the end, the catalog raisonné must be available digitally and as a printed catalog. Grantees would have up to three years to complete this.
According to the foundation, the new program aims to encourage artists to systematically record and process their entire oeuvre. This will benefit the general public, it said. In addition, the artistic heritage of Saxony-Anhalt will be made visible. The focus is on the art of the GDR and the art history of the post-war period in Saxony-Anhalt up to the present day. Applications will be accepted from artists born in 1945 or later who have been professionally active in the art industry for at least 25 years, according to the statement.
