Kunstmuseum Magdeburg shows photographs by Ulrich Wüst
The Kunstmuseum Magdeburg Kloster Unser Lieben Frauen is dedicating an exhibition to the photographic work of artist Ulrich Wüst. After the vernissage on Saturday, the show "Haltepunkte" (Stopping Points) by the photographer, who was born in Magdeburg in 1949, will be on display until April 1, 2024, according to the museum. Selected series of images will be on display, covering Wüst's extensive photographic work.
According to the information provided, "Haltepunkte" is a compilation of artworks from ten photo series taken between 1984 and 2023. The most recent series on the Elbe in Magdeburg is also included.
According to the museum, Wüst, who was awarded the Saxony-Anhalt Art Prize in 2021, is an "observer of his time". He even depicts the little oddities of everyday life. Wüst was characterized by a "special sensitivity for contemporary historical processes and the changes that accompanied them", it said.
