KSC with new energy against former coach Schwartz and Rostock

Coach Christian Eichner wants to build on the performance from the last home game against 1. FC Nürnberg (4:1) with Karlsruher SC against FC Hansa Rostock on Sunday (13:30/Sky). His team took a lot of momentum into the new training week, brought a "super energy" to the pitch and showed a "good attitude", reported the coach of the second-division soccer club on Friday.

Both Karlsruhe and Rostock are in the relegation battle. The visitors are a typical "Alois Schwartz team", said Eichner about the clash with the former KSC coach, whose assistant he once was. Rostock are "well organized" and have a "good transition game", explained the 41-year-old. They know that sometimes all it takes is one good offensive move to decide a game. FC Hansa have conceded 21 goals so far this season - no team from the bottom half of the table has conceded fewer.

The appearances of the recently ailing Karlsruhe midfielders Paul Nebel and Leon Jensen are still open. However, Eichner seemed confident about Nebel, who had to cut back on training due to a cold. The coach said that his team had "put the ongoing squabbles within the club management to one side very well". Both President Holger Siegmund-Schultze and Vice-President Martin Müller, as well as advisory board members Christian Fischer and Thomas Hock, will face motions to vote them out of office at next Monday's general meeting.

Despite being in the relegation battle, Karlsruhe aims to maintain their form against former coach Schwartz and Rostock's well-organized team in Bundesliga 2. Eichner praised Rostock's transition game and noted that a single brilliant offensive move could decide the match, as they've conceded the least goals among bottom-half teams.
