Kretschmer commenced his government declaration by focusing on the outcome of the European polls. "This European voting was a protest vote," he remarked, which tasted bitter given that the European vote was crucial for topics in Saxony. It wasn't in great political taste to overlook pivotal issues and not offer solutions. In the past, it had been possible to find middle ground among different parties. "Following this election's outcome, there's no easy 'continue as usual' option," he stressed.
