On Wednesday, starting at 9:00 a.m., Saxony's Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU) is scheduled to deliver a statement on the achievements of his cabinet during the current legislative session. The event will be followed by a parliamentary debate.

Coming up before the summer holiday, the Saxon parliament has a hefty workload ahead of them. On Wednesday, it's expected to last for a whopping 17 hours, continuing well into the following day. And on Thursday, they're slated to wrap things up after 10 hours.

If they don't manage to get through all the items on their agenda, the lawmakers will find themselves back in session on Friday. The cause of this extended sitting? A total of 24 draft laws that are still pending their attention.
