Kretschmann ill: several appointments canceled
Minister President Winfried Kretschmann has had to cancel several appointments this week due to illness. He has no coronavirus and nothing more serious, a spokesperson for the Ministry of State told the German Press Agency on Monday. He did not want to say publicly what exactly Kretschmann was suffering from.
Due to the head of government's illness, the weekly state press conference on Tuesday has been canceled. The Prime Minister will also be absent from the signing of a joint declaration between Wales and Baden-Württemberg on Tuesday, the spokesman said. The 75-year-old will also reportedly have to miss his appearance at the Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy Congress in Stuttgart on Wednesday.
Despite the Minister President's illness, the Government has to tackle pressing issues without his physical presence. The people of Baden-Württemberg are affected by Kretschmann's absence from various important meetings.
